A man walked into the ladies department of a Macy's, one of the largest department store chains. He shyly walked up to the woman behind the counter and said. 'I'd like to buy a bra for my wife'
'What type of bra?' asked the clerk.
'Type?' inquires the man 'There is more than one type?'
'Look Around,' said the saleslady, as she showed a sea of bras in every shape, size color and material.
'Actually, even with all of this variety, there are really only three types of bras,' replied the salesclerk.
Confused, the man asked what were the types.
The saleslady replied 'The Catholic type, the, Salvation Army type, and the Baptist type. Which one do you need?'
Still confused the man asked 'What is the difference between them?'
The lady responded 'It is all really quite simple. The Catholic type supports the masses, the Salvation Army type lifts up the fallen, and the and the Baptist type makes mountains out of mole hills.
The Good Side of Fear « Result #11 on Feb 26, 2009, 11:31am »
I had the chance to sit down at Jack Murphy Stadium in San Diego with Joe Montana before he went onto the field with the San Francisco 49ers against Denver in Super Bowl XXIV (1989).wow power leveling, We didn't know it then, but this would be Joe's last Super Bowl, his fourth championship, yet another high point in one of the most remarkable careers not just in pro football, but in all of sports. Joe seemed restless. wow power leveling,He had already won everything there is in this game - the respect of teammates and opponents, coaches and owners, and especially the fans - plus all the awards: multiple League Most Valuable Player (MVPs), Super Bowls, wow power leveling, and Super Bowl MVPs.
I said, "Joe, you can't possibly be scared."
What he said to me is, wow gold,I believe the key to his success and the reason I consider him the greatest quarterback of all time. He said, "If you're not afraid of losing, then losing means nothing."
Every time Joe Montana stepped on the field, he was scared. wow gold,That element of fear kept him sharp through his entire career. If we want to be at our best, we need that same element of fear burning inside of us. It sharpens the focus; keeps the edge.
There isn't a day that goes by that I don't remember what Joe said, wow gold, realizing the truth of it. It has helped me. I know it will surely help you.

Passing of Sifu Felix Wong « Result #13 on Jan 1, 2009, 8:55pm »
Although today is suppose to be a day of new beginnings. I am sorry to say that today is a sad day for MLCAA. Yesterday we were notified that SiFu Felix Tak Chung Wong had passed away. We are not sure of when, but it had been confirmed. I lost a great teacher and a good friend. It is believed that he lost his battle with a rare form of cancer with some bad side affects.
I wanted to share this will you because you are my Martial Art Friends and my Distance Family so to speak.
Sifu Wong, will always be in my heart and he will be an inspiration to continue what I do. He touched the lives of many even if he did not know him. I will be calling him on the holidays and on his birthday.
This is probably the most memorial picture I have of him.

It took awhile for me to realize that the thoughts in my head just do not translate well into statements, and it would be near impossible for someone else to capture what I "see" within. Perhaps that is why kata is so flexible, and wonderful, as each person can unearth their own interpretation to a movement.
Therefore, with time, and effort, I will see if I can capture that idea that I had into proper movement, and put it on a video.

I should not be too critical of the demo. Indeed there is great value to be had from watching the content you have indicated. And not least being it was enjoyable to see such quality.

Re: Tang Soo Do: Pyung Ahn Sa Dan « Result #19 on Jul 21, 2008, 8:35pm »
Just quickly overviewing this thread, it seems that I'm suggesting the double knife hand blocks can apply a sankyo to a reverse wrist grab. The sankyo against a double wrist grab from behind is established with the raising of the arms, keeping elbows tight against body until just above elbow height, where they are flared. This results in opponent's arms behind outside and above of your hands. You use your vertical hand to grab onto the opponent's palm edge of the other hand, take his grip off and turn to face him. This creates the sankyo. From there, you are, as the other poster is saying ... using the opponent's body as a 'base' (though I've never heard it described as such) and cranking on his wrist upwards. Maybe the guy can't visualise because he's thinking of other ways to apply the lock?
If you ask me, I'll have to say that this could be a possible Sankyo in response to a restraint coming from the back of the practitioner. If you raise your hands, with elbows flared, the attacker's arms go around your shoulders. This allows you to grip the attacker's heel palm. His fingers should be pointing to the ground, and the wrist crank is applied in a corkscrew manner inwards, towards him.
Colin
Osu Colin, I was trying to explain this application of the opening moves onto another forum, and I was asked a question that I have no answer for, but I am sure that you can help me.
He asks:
"I'm sorry, but I'm still unable to grasp your opening sequence to make it work. The defense against the double hand grip to the wrist/ palm as in Sankyo, is to use the opponent's body as a base, thus negating the turn, and relieving the pressure. The other arm would by now be in an ideal position to continue an attack in either a forward or backward direction.
How is the defender supposed to lock onto the arm without risking his, literal, neck?"
Would you please help me to understand all this, Colin?
