-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- According to FBI research more than half of the violent crime in America involves some form of weapon other than a firearm. And nearly half of these attacks involve some form of edged weapon.
This implies that to adequately prepare ourselves for possible confrontation, we should have some reliable defenses against edged weapon attacks. The best place to learn about edged weapon defense is from a system that specializes in both the usage of and defense against edged weapons. Sikal is such a system.
The Sikal curriculum has blade training at its very core. For this reason, Sikal practitioners develop a deep understanding of the blade - its strengths and its weaknesses. All the Sikal instructors have undergone extensive and rigorous training with edged weapons.
Unlike with empty hands or even blunt impact weapons, even a minor mistake against a blade-wielding attacker can mean serious injury or even death for the defender. Thats why its absolutely vital to have a solid understanding of the material.
If you have any interest in edged weapon defense, this workshop is for you. If youre in the military, law enforcement, or security then its even more critical that you train and develop an understanding of edged weapons because your job may force you into a confrontation that involves edged weapons.
